Raven Tor Season
Climbing can be a funny game, especially redpointing. With Spring now well established I’m heading back to Raven Tor to try and finish ‘Call of Nature’ a bouldery and sustained 8a. I was edging closer last year, but ended up out of action with two more operations on my arm just as I was about to send.
Now I’ve returned fitter and stronger to renew the game at Raven Tor. Over Easter I had a short play, top roping the climb in atrocious conditions. But, still managed to link the majority of the climb together with wet crux holds.
On Monday I headed back with Pete a good friend. It’s quite a task heading to Raven Tor for a day trip, with 8 ours of driving there and back it’s and exhausting day. But I still managed to squeeze in 2 good redpoint attempts before the sharp holds took their toil on my skin. I achieved a new high point, 2 moves from the easy finishing terrain and now feeling very satisfied that with a bit more practice I will finally climb this route.
